I BELIEVED IN THE PESTICIDES

When I was a young seedling, I was taught not to question those that were nurturing me. I allowed myself to be fertilized with many pesticides that have been harmful. I even swore by the very thing that was hurting me. Oh, and imagine this, the rationale I used to defend it were simply talking points from those that fed me the pesticides. Meanwhile, I sit proudly in the dark, rooted in soil that doesn't support me. I was wilted and didn't know it. How foolish was I?

It was well into my maturity when I started learning about pesticides and their detriment on my health when I was finally able to to let go of my belief in them. Now, I finally feel like I am growing towards the sun. ☀️

Have you ever held onto a belief as tightly I have just because it was indoctrinated by someone you trusted?
